What do we need?

In light of recent growth, TSM is looking for a Senior Strategic Planner to become an important member of our Strategy & Analytics team.   


What will you do?

The Strategic Planner builds and monitors strategic plans for clients. This work guides creative and execution to achieve the clients’ fundraising goals.  Thorough and accurate reports and analysis are the foundation of this work.

Planning is a team exercise and the Planner brings insights and analysis to the planning table.

More specifically, the candidate chosen for this role...

  • Analyzes donor file dynamics to generate insights and recommendations that will help clients to achieve their growth goals.
  • Prepares and works with TSM’s proprietary tools: Donor Health Index, long-term value, donor migration, Pipeline DHI, Marketing Calendar, and ROI Planner.
  • Builds Growth Plans that reflect the long-term impact of current year plans (Pro Forma, see below). A Growth Plan is TSM’s proprietary tool for building 5- to 10-year forecasts of revenue, cost and net revenue. Monitors progress against the Growth Plan.
  • Analyzes house campaign performance and campaign tests to generate insights and recommendations that will help clients’ campaigns to achieve goals as well.
  • Works with the Creative Director to review creative.
  • Builds the cultivation elements in the Pro Forma (current year plan) and monitors progress against it.
  • Ensures the accuracy of work product and documents logic/assumptions.
  • Develops the strategic narrative that helps clients understand where they’ve been, why, and where they can go.
  • Completes ad hoc projects to dig deeper into the data to address pressing performance issues.
  • Participates in internal meetings as well as client meetings.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Mathematics, Marketing, Social Science or a related field.
  • At least three years experience in a role with heavy analysis and planning in direct marketing.
